What Your Medical Examination Includes

The WAFID medical examination includes a structured assessment of physical and mental health through clinical examination, laboratory investigations and other required examinations.

Medical History

Review of relevant medical history as required as part of the expatriate medical examination.

Clinical Examination

General and systemic examination including measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate and assessment of vision, together with examination of relevant body systems.

Laboratory Examination

Required blood, urine and stool investigations are performed in accordance with the WAFID medical examination requirements.

Radiology

Chest X-ray imaging targeting pulmonary evaluation to confirm the absence of restrictive transmissible conditions.

Mental Status Examination

Assessment includes general observations and evaluation of thinking, emotion and cognition as specified in the examination requirements.

Medical Review

Medical Unfitness Criteria

WAFID specifies certain medical findings and conditions that may result in a candidate being classified as medically unfit.

  • Infectious diseases (uncontrolled TB, HIV, Hepatitis)
  • Uncontrolled chronic diseases (severe cardiovascular issues)
  • Vision or hearing standard failure (uncompensated)
  • Active psychiatric disorders or serious cognitive symptoms
